“Ability to make things happen.”

I was impressed by Laura’s ability to make things happen. She was very quick to draw up an offer ( literally overnight) on the house that already had an offer on it. Even though I came in later, she was able to position me as a preferred buyer. I had very little flexibility at work to take care of all the transaction business. Laura had been extremely helpful in assisting me finalized the transaction.

My feeling of working with Laura was that I felt she was on my team and was looking out for me and had my best interest at heart. It was not easy for a single female to go into this current competitive housing market. For the past year, I had my fair share of working with realtors that do not take the time nor the patience to get to really know what I want. Many are there to make a quick sale. With Laura, she understood that it will be a huge financial investment for most of us and respected that we need to feel completely comfortable with what we are getting into.

Laura immediately gave us such a kind, genuine, and honest impression that I told my husband as soon as we were alone, “She’s the one.” Laura was so knowledgeable about the areas we were focusing our search on, and her ability to understand and connect with us was so real that we knew working together would be easy. Once we started house hunting together, we were so happy to find that Laura had more things up her sleeve that would continue impressing us throughout our search.

For example:

-Laura did extra background research for us based on her understanding of our needs, wants, and goals. We saved a lot of time crossing off homes on our “let’s check them out” list because Laura found out things about the houses including: it was too close to the industrial part of town, or it’s near a sewer line, or the oil refinery is right behind it, or the neighborhood didn’t match our lifestyle, etc.

-Laura was very patient with us. I’m sure there were times she may have wanted to pull out her hair because of our changing wish list or the rejected offers, but she was always supportive and understanding. She had a positive can-do attitude that always kept our spirits up especially when time was really putting the pressure on.

-Laura worked tirelessly. She would be sending me emails with new listings constantly so that we wouldn’t miss out on anything. Some days we stayed out past 8pm looking at homes in order to fit as many locations as possible because of our time crunch. She will do whatever it takes without hesitation. 

-Laura was creative and imaginative. She didn’t just show us places we thought we would like. She showed us places we wouldn’t have looked at in order to give us more options that opened our eyes to more possibilities. Thank goodness, because we found our new home in a location we had originally thought would be crossed off our list!

“A Toast To Laura Kellam”

We met Laura at an open house that she was holding for another client. It was one of many that day and the process was so tiresome. Then we met Laura. She was so kind, energetic, warm, motivated, and most of all, intelligent! Unlike any other open house, she had all the information on the neighborhood, the home, area comps, etc. and I remember telling my husband how she was the type of agent I’d want selling my house!

She followed up with us a few days later and offered to sit with us to talk about what we were looking for. And we had no idea! We were looking for “that house,” but hadn’t thought about the important factors of an area that Laura brought up with us when talking and refining a particular area. We were open to different styles, different neighborhoods, etc. – but it just had to be the perfect house. Laura was tireless in meeting us at various homes, going out on her own any time she thought one might be meet our specification. She’d send us information on each home, the neighborhoods, and incredibly useful details like the vibe of the neighborhood, how much traffic passed through, school districts, if it was a nice walking area in the evening, etc. She was so patient and never once got frustrated with our indecision (at least not that she showed!). A few times we were so swept up in the momentum of things we thought we wanted to make offers on homes which she actually talked us out of! – which was always in our best interest and also meant her not getting a commission.

Needless to say after we found our dream home (which thanks to her tenacity and her affiliation with her reputable firm she was able to make sure that we had the opportunity to not only have our offer reviewed but we were able to get countered, which is difficult in this time), We of course had her sell our house! Within 5 days of listing, Laura secured us 12 offers – all over asking. The photos she took of our home were stunning and she added beautiful personal touches in showing the home to get it sold. My husband and I both work crazy hours and she made it so easy for us – taking care of everything and even finding us someone to do some remodeling on our new home. The day we first walked into our new home and we saw a bottle of champagne from Laura both my husband and I agreed that it was us that should be toasting her

A friend of mine recommended Laura Kellam when I was selling a spec home that my husband and had designed and built. When I met her, I told her I planned on marketing it myself, and holding open houses etc. How hard could it be, right? Well, I was in over my head and Laura came to my rescue and helped me tremendously, even though she did not have the listing. She scheduled 6 open houses in a 10 day period, she hosted the open houses, set up all the signs in the neighborhood and created fantastic marketing material, shared all of her knowledge about area pricing and neighborhood activity with attendees, all of this with no guarantee that she would find a buyer and get paid for her time. Laura Kellam was our realtor when I sold my mom’s house last year – the house I grew up in over 60 years ago. It was a very emotional thing for me to do.
